Billing and Shipping Addresses Management

The address information is retrieved from the customer or contact form in Microsoft Dynamics AX.

To manage the address information in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, go to Accounts receivable -> Common -> Customers -> All customers.

The address information is managed on the 'Customers' form, the 'Addresses' fast tab (the same is on the 'Contact' form). Add a record and enter the customer's address information:


Customer's Address Information

In Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 the billing address refers to the 'Invoice' purpose. Thus, when you add the billing address, select 'Invoice' in the 'Purpose' dropdown.

Also when you add the billing and shipping addresses you should specify which address is primary. A primary address is the principal postal address for the customer.

The shipping address in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 refers to the 'Delivery' purpose. Thus, when you add the shipping address, select 'Delivery' in the 'Purpose' dropdown.

When no shipping address is available in Microsoft Dynamics AX, then the billing address data will be also used for the shipping address.

In the webshop the address information is shown on the second 'Billing/ shipping' and third 'Order overview' checkout steps.
