Assign a Customer to a Sales Agent

The customer representation allows sales agents to order on behalf of their customers. Therefore it is necessary to assign a customer to a sales agent.

Sales groups are used for assigning a customer to a sales agent. Thus before assigning a customer to a sales agent you should create a sales group and add a sales representative to this group:

Step 1: Go to: Sales and marketing -> Setup -> Commissions -> Sales groups.

Step 2: Create a group and fill in the 'Group' field, which is the code name or ID of the group, and its name.

Step 3: Click 'Sales rep.'. On the 'Sales rep.' form you can add the sales representatives to the sales group:

Now you can assign a customer to this sales agent. To assign a customer to a sales agent in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012:

Step 1: Go to: Accounts receivable -> Common -> Customers -> All customers.

Step 2: In the list of customers find the one which should be assigned to the sales agent and switch to the edit mode.

Step 3: On the 'Sales order defaults' fast tab select the sales group which includes the necessary sales agent.
