Product Prices Configuration

In Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 the product price is set on the 'Released product details' form.

To set a base sales price:

Step 1: Go to: Product information management -> Common -> Released products.

Step 2: Open the necessary product form and switch to the edit mode.

Step 3: On the released product details form go to the 'Sell' fast tab. In the 'Base sales price' section the 'Price' field is used to set the price for which you actually sell the product to the customer if there is no sales price.

Sales prices are used to promote products with lower prices.

To set a sales price:

Step 1: At the top of the released product details form switch to the 'Sell' tab and click on 'Create trade agreements'. At first you should create a record in the journal:

Create a Trade Agreement

When the journal record is created, click 'Lines' at the top of the form. In the 'Journal lines, price/discount agreement' form the sales price can be set:

Set a Sales Price

Step 2: In the 'Relation' field select sales price from the dropdown.

Step 3: In the 'Account code' field you can define for whom the sales price should be set, for an individual customer, then select 'Table', for a customer price group, then select 'Group' or for all customers.

For instance if you want the sales price of a specific product to be shown only for an individual customer then in the 'Account code' field select 'Table' and in the 'Account selection' dropdown select the customer account for whom the sales price should be visible.

Step 4: In the 'Item relation' dropdown select the item number of the product for which the sales price should be set.

Step 5: In the 'Amount in currency' field set the sales price of a product. Make sure that you set the sales price lower than the base sales price on the released product details form as it is the matter of promotion of the product with lower price.

Step 6: Select the correct currency in the 'Currency' dropdown.

Step 7: When the sales price is set click 'Post' to post the journal. The lines from the posted journal are used as trade agreements.

Now, both prices, base sales price and sales price, are set. If the sales prices for the products are set and both prices, base sales price and sales price, should be shown in the webshop, then sales prices should be activated in the Sana Commerce backoffice.

To do this open the Sana Commerce backoffice and go to Settings -> Catalog. Activate the 'Action prices' option.

If the 'Action prices' option is not activated in the Sana Commerce backoffice, than only the sales prices (action prices) will be shown in the webshop. This is because when both prices are set in Microsoft Dynamics AX, sales prices become actual prices.

When the sales prices are set and activated, both base sales prices and sales prices, which are used for presentation of action prices, are shown together. The base sales prices are of a red color and marked strikethrough.

If you need to change the sales price:

Step 1: In Microsoft Dynamics AX on the released product details form switch to the 'Sell' tab.

Step 2: Click on 'Create trade agreements', create a journal record and click on 'Lines'.

Step 3: At the top of the 'Journal lines, price/discount agreements' form, click on 'Select'.

Step 4: Use filters to find the product for which the sales price should be changed. When the product is found you can change its sales price. When the sales price is changed post the journal.
