Software Requirements for Database Servers

The database server where you install the Sana Commerce database must meet the software requirements listed in the following table:

Microsoft SQL Server versions	Microsoft SQL Server editions
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or higher     Installation of SQL Server 2016 is supported on x64 processors only. It is no longer supported on x86 processors.	The following Microsoft SQL Server editions are supported: Express Datacenter (retired in SQL Server 2012) Enterprise Standard Web Business Intelligence Workgroup (retired in SQL Server 2012) Azure

• SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode should be enabled for the SQL Server instance.
  
  
• The user who runs the SQL Server service should have 'read' permissions to the folder where the Sana Commerce installer is stored.

Azure SQL Database

Sana Commerce SQL database can be also hosted on Windows Azure. To restore the Sana SQL database to Windows Azure you will be asked to specify the name of your Windows Azure SQL Database instance while installing Sana Commerce.
