Online Customer Registration



When a customer registers in the webshop online, the data from a customer template is used to create a new customer. In the webshop on the Creating a new account page a user enters only personal contact information, like name and address.

All other data like currency, storage dimensions, customer group, tax information (delivery terms and sales tax group) is copied from the customer template, assigned to each available in the webshop country, to the newly registered customer. Therefore, customer templates should be created and assigned to each visible in webshop country in Dynamics 365 for Operations. Customer templates with predefined data can be created in the All customers table.

Countries setup

Step 1: In Dynamics 365 for Operations click: Organization administration > Global address bookAddresses > Address setup > Country/region.

Step 2: Select the Visible in webshop option for all countries which should be available in the webshop in the Countries dropdown list.

Step 3: Select the Customer template for all required countries.

Step 4: If you add any country that has states, for example The United States of America, check that all states of this country are present on the State/province tab.
