Pricing

Sana being the ERP integrated e-commerce solution uses the pricing logic of Microsoft Dynamics GP. This means that all prices are managed and calculated real-time in Microsoft Dynamics GP.

Microsoft Dynamics GP offers the option of using standard or extended pricing. Both pricing systems allow to set up different pricing structures - price levels in standard pricing, or price sheets and price books in extended pricing.

You cannot use both pricing systems simultaneously in Microsoft Dynamics GP, thus you should choose the one which satisfies the needs of your business best.

Standard pricing

Standard pricing might be a better solution for your business if:

  • You are using invoicing. (Extended pricing doesn't work with invoicing.)
  • You want price lists to be updated automatically when the current cost or standard cost of an item changes.
  • You are using a simple pricing structure, and don't need additional tiers.

For more information about how to set up standard pricing in Microsoft Dynamics GP, see 'Standard Pricing'.

Extended pricing

Extended pricing might be a better solution for your business if:

  • You want to use date-specific pricing.
  • You want to create promotions for special pricing, such as value-off pricing, or set up free items, for example when a customer purchases one item and another one is added free of charge.
  • You have a complex pricing structure: you want to use more tiers or you want to apply multiple promotions simultaneously.

For more information about how to set up extended pricing in Microsoft Dynamics GP, see 'Extended Pricing'.
