Firewall Requirements

The following firewall settings are required for Sana Commerce to work correctly:

Communication between  Notes
Web server and Payment Service Provider (PSP)
  • The following firewall settings are required when using an external Payment Service Provider (PSP) for handling payments. Outgoing traffic over HTTPS (port 443) should be opened from the Web server to PSP. PSP IP addresses can be found in the PSP documentation.
  • Contact your Sana Commerce Partner to determine which PSP is used.
Web server and ERP server
  • The firewall should be opened between the Web server and ERP server for HTTP / HTTPS traffic on the port number as configured during installation.
HTTP or HTTPS depends on the selected communication protocol during installation.
  • Note that when co-located hosting is used the firewalls on both sides should be configured.
  • Contact your Sana Commerce Partner to determine which party is hosting the ERP server.

Azure SQL Database Firewall

To help protect your data, the Azure SQL Database firewall prevents all access to your Azure SQL Database server until you specify which computers have permission. The firewall grants access based on the originating IP address of each request.

Therefore, before installing the Sana Commerce web store on the Web server you need to add a firewall rule to allow connection to your Azure SQL Database server by adding the IP address of the Web server where the Sana Commerce will be hosted.

For more information about how to configure firewall rules for Windows Azure SQL Database, see 'How to manage your firewall rules using Windows Azure Management Portal'.

To access Azure SQL Database from the Web server where the Sana Commerce web store will be hosted, ensure that the firewall on your network and the Web server allows outgoing communication on TCP port 1433.

For more information about firewall configuration, see 'Azure SQL Database Firewall' in the Microsoft Library.
