Install Sana inside GP

Prerequisites

Before installing the Sana add-on inside Microsoft Dynamics GP check the following prerequisites:

  • Back up your Microsoft Dynamics GP database. The database is always at risk of damage and data loss. Therefore, you need to back up your database to be able to recover it something goes wrong.
  • Check whether the Service Based Architecture component is installed and all Microsoft Dynamics GP services are running.

Install Sana inside Microsoft Dynamics GP

To install Sana inside Microsoft Dynamics GP:

Step 1: Copy the chunk file (*.CNK) from the Sana add-on package for GP to the folder where Microsoft Dynamics GP is installed.

      The Sana add-on for Microsoft Dynamics GP can be downloaded from the Sana Community web site. Only the registered Sana partners can access Sana Community.

By default, Microsoft Dynamics GP is installed to the following directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP2015.

Step 2: Run Microsoft Dynamics GP. You will see the Dexterity Runtime message informing you that new code must be included. Click Yes to continue.

Step 3: Install the following assemblies into the Global Assembly Cache (GAC):

  • Sana.Commerce.GP.Interop.dll - available in the Sana add-on package for Microsoft Dynamics GP
  • Microsoft.Dynamics.GP.BusinessObjects.dll - available in the folder where Microsoft Dynamics GP is installed
  • Microsoft.Dynamics.GP.ManagementReporterServices.dll - available in the folder where Microsoft Dynamics GP is installed
  • Microsoft.Dynamics.GP.Svc.Application.dll - available in the folder where Microsoft Dynamics GP is installed

To do this you should use the Global Assembly Cache tool. This tool is automatically installed with Visual Studio as a part of Windows SDK. For more information, see 'How to: Install an Assembly into the Global Assembly Cache' in the MSDN Library.

Step 4: Copy the following files from the Sana add-on package for GP to the folder where Microsoft Dynamics GP is installed:

  • Application.SanaCommerce.dll
  • Application.SanaCommerce.xml
  • Application.SanaCommerce.Metadata.dll
  • Application.SanaCommerce.Metadata.xml

By default, Microsoft Dynamics GP is installed to the following directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP2015.

Step 5: Restart Microsoft Dynamics GP services:

  • GP Dexterity Service - DEFAULT - 14
  • GP Dexterity Service Control
  • GP Service
  • GP Session Central Service
  • GP Session Services

Now the Sana add-on is installed inside Microsoft Dynamics GP. If you open the Microsoft Dynamics GP client, you should see the Sana Commerce module in the main menu.
