Import Sana Project

 NOTE

Make sure, that if any database development is in progress, stop it and synchronize the data dictionary before importing the SANA project.

 NOTE

Sana provides the project for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 SP1. If you have installed some hotfixes, your AX system administrator must review all system objects of the Sana project using the standard 'Comparison' tool of Microsoft Dynamics AX. Comparison should be performed between the latest system layer and the Sana project layer. Only changes with the Sana Commerce comments or elements with the 'SC_' prefix, like on the screenshot below, should be present, any other changes should be removed.

To import the Sana project into Microsoft Dynamics AX:

Step 1: Start Microsoft Dynamics AX environment.

 NOTE

You can start the Microsoft Dynamics AX environment on different layers using the configuration tool and import the project on an empty layer.

Step 2: Go to the following location at Microsoft Dynamics AX menu: Tools > Development tools > Wizards > Label file wizard.

Step 3: Check the 'Create new label file ID' checkbox and click 'Next'.

Step 4: Type 'SCL' in the 'Label file ID' field and click 'Next'. Then click 'Finish' to exit from a wizard.

Step 5: Open projects window (Ctrl+Shift+P) and select the 'Shared' folder.

Step 6: Import the Sana Commerce project (Ctrl+Shift+I) with labels. You can download the Sana Commerce project on the Sana Community web site. Only registered Sana partners can download it from Sana Community. If you are a customer, please contact your implementation partner.

Step 7: Compile SANA project and check that there are no errors or warnings.

 NOTE

If some errors occurred please import the project one more time and recompile it.

 NOTE

If labels are not shown correctly, stop AOS and replace the label file in the application directory with the one from the Sana Commerce release package (the 'axSCLen-us.ald' file in the Sana package for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 SP1).

 NOTE

Pay attention to the display language of Microsoft Dynamics AX. By default, we provide the label file only for the English (United States) language of Microsoft Dynamics AX with the language culture name 'en-us'. For all other available languages in AX, Microsoft Dynamics AX creates the empty label files.

Thus, if your Microsoft Dynamics AX uses some other display language or the English language but not with 'en-us' language culture name, for instance 'en-GB' for the United Kingdom, then:

  1. Stop the Application Object Server (AOS).
  2. Go to the AX application folder with label files.
  3. Find the file 'axSCLen-us.ald' and copy it to some other folder.
  4. Rename the copied lable file. You must change the language culture name in the name of the label file to the one that is used in your Microsoft Dynamics AX system. For example, if the display language of your Microsoft Dynamics AX system is Dutch, you should rename the label file to 'axSCLnl.ald'.
  5. Copy the renamed label file to other label files in the AX application folder.
  6. Delete all '*.alc' and '*.ali' files in the folder with the label files.
  7. Start the Application Object Server (AOS).

If all steps have been followed and performed, then the Sana project is imported to Microsoft Dynamics AX.
