Install Sana inside GP

 NOTE

The Sana add-on for Microsoft Dynamics GP can be downloaded from the Sana Community web site. Only the registered Sana partners can access Sana Community.

Prerequisites

Before installing the Sana add-on inside Microsoft Dynamics GP, check the following prerequisites:

  • Back up your Microsoft Dynamics GP database. The database is always at risk of damage and data loss. Therefore, you need to back up your database to be able to recover it, if something goes wrong.
  • Check whether the Service Based Architecture and all required Microsoft Dynamics GP services are installed.

Install the Sana add-on into Microsoft Dynamics GP

Sana provides the installer to install the Sana add-on into Microsoft Dynamics GP.

Step 1: To install the Sana add-on into Microsoft Dynamics GP, you must close all GP instances.
Step 2: Run "Sana Installer" from the Sana add-on package for Microsoft Dynamics GP. Click "Install Sana into Microsoft Dynamics GP".

Step 3: Specify the path to the folder where Microsoft Dynamics GP is installed. Click Next.

Step 4: On the next step, the Sana installer will check whether all required Microsoft Dynamics GP services are installed. It will also check whether any other version of the Sana add-on is installed in Microsoft Dynamics GP. Click Next.

 NOTE

The Sana installer can be also used to upgrade the Sana add-on in Microsoft Dynamics GP. Therefore, if the Sana add-on is already installed in your Microsoft Dynamics GP system, you can use the Sana installer to install the new version of the add-on once it is released, and if it is compatible with your Sana webshop. It will overwrite the existing Sana add-on.

Step 5: Then, the Sana installer will check Microsoft Dynamics GP processes that are running. If there are any GP related processes that are running in the background, click "Stop Running Processes" to stop all GP processes. Otherwise, you will not be able to continue installing the Sana add-on into Microsoft Dynamics GP. Once all Microsoft Dynamics GP processes are stopped, click Next.

Step 6: On the next step of the Sana installer, you will see a few recommendations. Check the notes and click "Install".

The Sana add-on will be installed and Microsoft Dynamics GP will automatically open. You will see the message that the new code must be included into Microsoft Dynamics GP set dictionary. Click "Yes".

Step 7: On the last installation step, you should see that the Microsoft Dynamics GP services are running again. Click "Finish", to finalize installation of the Sana add-on.

Now the Sana add-on is installed inside Microsoft Dynamics GP. If you open the Microsoft Dynamics GP client, you should see the Sana Commerce module in the main menu.

Step 8: In Microsoft Dynamics GP, click: Sana Commerce > Table Creation/Upgrade Wizard. Run this wizard to create the new tables and update the existing tables in the Microsoft Dynamics GP database. It will finalize the Sana add-on installation. For more information, read this article.

 NOTE

If you upgrade the existing Sana add-on in Microsoft Dynamics GP to the new version, you must also run the "Table Creation/Upgrade Wizard".
