Configure Sana Web Service for SAP Business One

 NOTE

This step is optional. You can skip it, if you configured the Sana Web service for SAP Business One during installation. You can read this article, if you need to reconfigure the Web service.

This article provides information about Sana Web Service for SAP Business One and how to configure it. It is used for communication between Sana and SAP Business One using Service Layer. This connection allows Sana to use data and business logic of SAP Business One.

The Sana Web service for SAP Business One is hosted in the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager. Sana delivers the installer to install and configure the Sana Web service for SAP Business One. When it is installed, you can access the Web service using the Web interface and reconfigure it after installation, if there is a necessity.

Prerequisites

Before configuring the Sana Web Service for SAP Business One check the prerequisites:

  • The Sana Web Service for SAP Business One must be installed.
  • The Web service URL must be available and accessible.
  • The user that is used to authorize the Web Service must be set up.
  • The SAP Business One Service Layer service URL must be available.
  • The SAP Business One company details are available.

Set Up Sana Web Service for SAP Business One

Step 1: Open the Sana Web Service for SAP Business One in the Web browser. Use the Web Service URL to open it. When you open the Web Service in the Web browser, you will be asked to enter credentials of the user that is used to authorize the Sana Web Service for SAP Business One. Then, you will see the Web Service information page.

Step 2: To open the Web Service configuration page, type "/configure" at the end of the Web Service URL.

Step 3: When you open the Web Service configuration page, all parameters will be filled in because you already had to configure the Web Service during installation.

Using this page, you can easily reconfigure the Sana Web Service for SAP Business One through a Web interface.

Field Description
Active Connection Select the connection type, Beta or Live.
Service URL  Enter the Service Layer service URL. You must request it from your SAP Business One implementation partner. 
Company Database  Enter the name of the SAP Business One HANA database / company name on which the Sana add-on is installed according to the specified connection type (Beta or Live). 
Company Username  Enter the credentials of the dedicated database user that is used to log in to the SAP company the Sana add-on is assigned to. This must be a super user with an Indirect Access user or professional license in SAP Business One. 
Company Password
Language  Select the preferred language from the list. It is used to get information and error messages from SAP Business One in the selected language. 
Protocol  Select the network communication protocol to run the Sana Web Service for SAP Business One.

Sana requires to secure data transfer between the Sana web store and SAP Business One with the SSL certificate. Thus, the Sana Web Service must run over HTTPS. The server which hosts the Sana Web service for SAP Business One must support TLS 1.2. 

Authentication Type  Select the authentication type for the Web Service. For security reasons we recommend to use "Windows Authentication". 
Log Directory  Enter the path to the folder where the log files should be stored. All requests from the Sana web store to SAP Business One and responses will be saved to this folder. Logs can be used for troubleshooting and debugging. 

Step 4: Click Test Connection to check connection to SAP Business One via the Sana Web Service.

Step 5: Click Update to save Sana Web Service settings.
