Introduction

 NOTE

The Ingenico payment provider is available as an add-on. It can be installed from Sana Apps. In Sana Admin click: Apps > Add-ons.

It might happen that you don't have permissions to install Sana Apps, for example if you have a customized project or it was disabled by a web store administrator intentionally. In this case, you need to contact your Sana partner or project manager.

You are free to use any other payment methods of Ingenico besides those supported by Sana, but you should test them by yourself beforehand and make sure that everything works as expected. You can use any other payment methods of Ingenico that are not listed as supported by Sana at your own risk.

 NOTE

According to the EU's Second Payment Services Directive (2015/2366 PSD2) all electronic transactions in the EU must be protected with Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) from September 2019. For more information, see "3DS v2: Increase security; increase conversion".

Sana supports 3D Secure authentication process when customers pay their orders online via the Ingenico payment service provider. 3-D Secure version 2 is supported. This means that when customers create orders in the Sana web store and pay online through Ingenico, they will see a prompt from the card issuer to enter the authentication credentials. The card issuer checks the credentials and the identity of the customer, and provides unique authentication values to the merchant.

Online payment with an extra checkout step

When a customer pays an order through Ingenico, the additional checkout step Your Wallet, will be shown in a Sana web store. This step will show the customer's credit cards. For web shop administrator we recommend to create user-friendly names for the payment methods to specify whether the selected payment method supports credit cards.

A customer needs to pay at least one order through Ingenico and on the hosted payment page he or she needs to allow Ingenico to store the credit card information. If these two conditions are fulfilled, the next time a customer pays an order through Ingenico, the extra checkout step with the customer's credit card information will be available.

If a customer pays the first order through Ingenico and on the hosted payment page he or she does not allow Ingenico to store the credit card information, then the next time a customer pays an order through Ingenico, he or she will have to enter the credit card information again.

All cards are linked to the customer ID. Since several shop accounts can be linked to the same customer, for the correct work of the payment methods you are using we strongly recommend to link each customer ID only to one shop account.

If you allow guests to place orders without registration in your web store, we do not recommend to allow guests to pay with the extra checkout step for security reasons. For more information, see "Payments".
