Manage Product Attributes

The possibility to manage attributes for a product is specific for the NAV Connector.

It is possible to add additional product attributes from the 'Item' table in NAV to be displayed on 'Product List' and 'Product Details' pages on the website. A separate Sana text should be created for each additional product attribute in order to make it visible on the website.

To add an additional product attribute:
  • Go to 'Catalog management > Add Sana text' and create a new Sana text for the additional product attribute. This Sana text will be displayed as a label for the corresponding field on the 'Product details' page;
  • Go to 'Site management > Site configuration' and select the website for which an additional product attribute should be made visible;
  • Scroll down to the bottom of the 'Site configuration' page and locate the 'Product attribute settings' table;

    'Product Attribute Settings' Table

    This table allows you to manage product attributes which are displayed on 'Product List' and 'Product Details' pages on the website.
    Below you can find the detailed description of each field of the 'Product attribute settings' table:

    Name Description
    Field name
    This drop-down list consists of all fields that can be selected for display. The list of fields is taken from the 'Item' table in NAV. All types of active fields are available for selection except of 'BLOB', 'Binary' and 'TableFilter' types where field class is 'Normal' or 'FlowField'. Also the fields which are displayed on the website by default (for example, 'Item Code', 'Description') are not available in the drop-down list.
    Sorting This field specifies the order in which an attribute is displayed. The first level of order is '0'.
    Sana text group code This field allows a user to specify a Sana text that will be displayed as the label for selected item attribute.
    Lookup table name If a field from the 'Item' table in NAV is related to another table and this field is selected in the 'Field name' drop-down, the name of the lookup table will be shown in this column. Note: If a related table has the composite primary key this relation will be ignored.
    Lookup field name This drop-down list consists of all available fields from the lookup table which can be selected for display. If no field from the lockup table is selected a value of the field specified in the 'Field name' column will be shown by default.
    Visibility This field allows a user to select the visibility of an attribute on the 'Product list' page, 'Product details' page or on both pages. It is also possible to make the attribute invisible.
  • Fill in all required fields and click 'Refresh site cache'.

Additional product attributes are displayed on the 'Product List' page under the name of each product. If the quantity of additional product attributes is more than one they are divided by the '|' symbol. Additional product attributes are displayed on the 'Product Details' page at the bottom of the page:
