B2C Customer Registration

When a new B2C customer registers in the webshop, the template customer's data is used to create a new customer. In the webshop on the 'Creating a new account' page a B2C customer enters only personal contact information, like name and address. All other data like language, currency, storage dimensions, customer group, tax information is copied from the template customer, assigned to each available in the webshop country, to the newly registered customer. Therefore, a template customer should be created and assigned to the visible in webshop countries in Microsoft Dynamics AX.

To manage the countries:

Step 1: In Microsoft Dynamics AX go to: Organization administration -> Setup -> Addresses -> Address setup -> Country/region:

Step 2: Select the 'Visible in webshop' check boxes of the countries which should be available in the webshop in the 'Countries' dropdown.

Step 3: Select the 'Customer template' for the predefined settings which will be copied to the newly registered B2C customer. The customer template which is assigned to the country is created in the 'All customers' table.

Both 'Visible in webshop' and 'Customer template' settings have to be defined for the correct work.

When a new B2C customer registers in the webshop the language preference for a newly created customer will be taken from the default company language in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012: Organization administration -> Setup -> Organization -> Legal entities   Notice, that if you are using Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 the language preference for a newly registered B2C customer will be taken from the customer template assigned to the country.
