Klarna and AfterPay

To give customers the simplest buying experience and to offer all popular payment methods, Sana integrates with Klarna and AfterPay. Both payment methods are supported for the Ingenico payment service provider.

Klarna is an e-commerce company that offers safe and easy-to-use payment solutions to web stores.

At the core of Klarna's services is the concept of after delivery payment, which lets buyers receive ordered goods before any payment is due. Klarna also assumes the credit and fraud risk for web stores so that sellers can be assured that they will always receive their money.

Klarna provides multiple options on how a customer should pay an order:

Klarna works in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, UK and United States.

AfterPay is the payment method that allows you to pay for your purchases after receiving them. A customer is free to choose when to pay - before or after delivery. You can even choose whether you want to pay the full sum all at once or in installments. AfterPay offers several ways to pay, so your customers are sure to find the one that suits best.

If you allow your customers to pay with Klarna or AfterPay, then the additional checkout step, called Information for payment provider, will be shown in the Sana web store.

The information which a customer should fill in on the Information for payment provider checkout step is required by the payment provider. These fields are mandatory. The information which is required from a customer to place an order can differ for the Klarna and AfterPay payment methods. Moreover, it can differ for each customer.

The required information is automatically retrieved from the customer data in the ERP system. A payment provider will not request those data which is already available. If some data required for the payment provider to place an order is not available, a customer will be asked to fill in the required information on the Information for payment provider checkout step.

There might be the case also that the required information is present in the customer data, but it does not satisfy the requirements of the Klarna or AfterPay payment method. In this case the payment provider will ask a customer to correct the necessary information.

 NOTE

Klarna and AfterPay payment methods have strict requirements regarding the information a customer enters. Thus, all fields are validated and have certain character limits.

For more information about Klarna and AfterPay integration, data which is required for these payment methods, and limitations, see 'Klarna guide' and 'AfterPay guide'.
