Instant Payment Notifications

The notifications are used to update the payment statuses of the orders in Sana. PayPal Checkout can send the notifications to Sana in the following cases:

  • When the web store goes down for some reason while the payment is being processed.
  • When the payment is altered. For example, if PayPal refunds the money for the order.
  • When pending payments are approved by the merchant.

To receive notifications from PayPal Checkout, you need to update the PayPal notifications URL.

Step 1:  Log in to the PayPal Business Manage with your PayPal account and click Account Settings > Notifications. Click Update on Instant payment notifications.

Step 2: The Instant Payment Notification (IPN) page will open. Click the button Edit settings on this page.

Step 3: Enter the Notification URL and select the option Receive IPN messages (Enabled).

The notification URL should be entered in the following format: <Your web site URL>/confirm/payment/PayPalCheckout
Example: https://paypalcheckout.websites.net/confirm/payment/PayPalCheckout
