Item Description

The item (product) description can be added both in NAV and the backoffice. If the product description is present in the backoffice, it will overwrite the item description from NAV. The difference is that the catalog manager in the Sana Commerce backoffice provides an HTML editor for the better text enrichment. NAV supports only plain text. The core item data like title, price and visibility are all managed in NAV.

On the Item card the item description can be managed:

Step 1: Choose the item, click 'Related Information -> Item -> Extended Texts':


Adding the Item Description

Step 2: Set the language code if you want to create a language-specific description.

Step 3: Use the start and end dates to determine when the item description should be visible on the frontend.

Step 4: Activate the 'Visible in Webshop' option in the 'Sales' tab to make the item description visible on the frontend.

Step 5: Click 'Refresh site cache' in the backoffice after the item description has been added or changed.
