Item Categories and Product Groups

In Microsoft Dynamics NAV products can be classified using item categories and product groups. Item categories and product groups together with the products can be imported into Sana Admin to automatically build the main menu of your webshop with the products catalog.

Item categories

Item categories can be made visible or invisible in Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

Use the Item Categories table to manage item categories in Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

To manage item categories click: Departments > Financial Management > Inventory > Setup > Item Categories.

Item Categories Management

If you make an item category invisible, items added under this category are still visible, only the item category is made invisible.

Click Translations at the top of the Item Categories table if you need to translate the item category name into different languages.

Product groups

Product groups can be made visible or invisible in Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

Use the Product Groups table to manage product groups in Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

To manage product groups click: Departments > Purchase > Inventory & Costing > Administration > Setup > Product Groups.
