Shipping Providers and Methods Configuration

A shop administrator is able to map the shipping methods configured in Sana Admin to the shipping methods in Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

If the shipping method in Sana Admin is mapped to the shipping method in Microsoft Dynamics NAV, then when the customer makes an order in the webshop the selected shipping method will be stored in the sales order in Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

To configure the shipping providers and methods in Microsoft Dynamics NAV:

Step 1: Click: Departments > Sales & Marketing > Order Processing > Administration > Setup > Shipping Agents.

Step 2: Use the Shipping Agents table to set up shipping providers.

Shipping Provider Configuration

Field	Description
Code	The code of the shipping provider.
Name	The name of the shipping provider, such as FedEx.
Internet Address	The URL which is used to access the shipping provider package tracking service. Example: http://www.fedex.com/Tracking?action=track&tracknumbers=%1&dest_cntry=%2&ship_date=%3 Microsoft Dynamics NAV will use this URL to track the package. Microsoft Dynamics NAV will substitute the replacement tags with the information which is used to track the package (e.g. '%1' is used as the substitution for the package tracking number). In NAV the tracking number can be entered on the sales order, under the Shipping FastTab, the Package Tracking No. field. In the webshop customers can see the tacking link on the order details page. When the customer clicks on the tracking link in the webshop the web site of the shipping provider will open and begin a search for the relevant package.

Step 3: Select the configured shipping provider and at the top click: Related Information > Line > Shipping Agent Services.

Step 4: Use the Shipping Agent Services table to set up the shipping methods that the related shipping provider can offer.

Field	Description
Code	The code of the shipping method.
Description	The name of the shipping method.

When the shipping providers and methods are configured in Microsoft Dynamics NAV, the shipping methods will be available in Sana Admin for mapping. The shipping methods retrieved from Dynamics NAV for mapping will be available in the External shipping method field as the combination of Shipping Agent Service (shipping method) and Shipping Agent (shipping provider).
