Alternate Items

Alternate items are used to add similar or related items, like accessories, or spare parts, and build relationship between the alternative items and the original item. These item relations are used for cross- and up-selling, or it can be also used to provide alternatives in case any of these items is out of stock.

To add alternative items in Microsoft Dynamics GP, open the item to which alternatives should be added and at the top of the Item Maintenance window click: Go To > Alternate Items.

Use the Alternative Items window to define alternatives for the item. To add an alternate item, click on the Lookup button and select an item that should be used as an alternative to the one specified at the top of the window. This way you can add the unlimited number of alternatives to the item.

In the Sana webshop alternate items are shown on the product details page under the general product information. Up to four alternative items can be shown per type.
