Item Groups

Item groups are used to classify products into groups that describe the nature of a product. The products are grouped based on its characteristics.

To create and manage item groups in Dynamics 365 Enterprise Edition:

Step 1: Click: Inventory management > Setup > Inventory > Item groups.

Step 2: Under the Setup FastTab use the Visible in webshop option to make the item group visible or invisible in webshop.
If you make the item group invisible, products assigned to the item group will be still visible. Only the item group becomes invisible in the webshop.

On the action pane click Translations to translate the item group name into different languages.

When the item groups are created, the products can be assigned to the appropriate item groups. This can be done on the Released product details form, under the Manage costs FastTab.

Item groups can be imported into Sana Admin to automatically build the main menu of your webshop with the catalog. Only those item groups that are marked as Visible in webshop will be imported. The names of the item groups in different languages will be also imported to the navigation items in case of a multi-lingual webshop.
