Retrieve Catalog Data from inRiver

After you installed and configured the inRiver add-on successfully, you can fetch data from inRiver.

You need to retrieve all Product Model fields and product categories from inRiver and import them to Sana for the further use.

In Sana Admin click: Tools > Scheduled tasks. Start the General information import task.

When the task is completed, all Product Model fields and product categories from inRiver will be saved in Sana. These fields will be used for search, filtering using facets and product specifications in the Sana web store.

Add fields from inRiver to Sana to search products in the Sana web store

Add the fields from inRiver to the Keyword fields in Sana Admin. In this way you can search the products in the Sana web store using the fields from inRiver.

In Sana Admin click: Setup > ERP integration > Index fields. In the Keyword fields enter the name of the field or the keyword "inriver_" to find and add the field you need from inRiver.

Only the fields of the following field types from inRiver can be added to the Keyword fields in Sana Admin and used to search the products in the Sana web store:

  • String
  • LocaleString
  • Xml

When you added the necessary fields and saved the changes, you will be asked to run the Product import task. You can do it from the Index fields tab or you can click: Tools > Scheduled tasks and run Rebuild index for the Product import task from there.

Add fields from inRiver to Sana to filter products in the Sana web store

Step 1: Add inRiver fields to the Filter fields in Sana Admin. These fields will be used to configure filtering of products in the Sana web store.

In Sana Admin click: Setup > ERP integration > Index fields. In the Filter fields enter the name of the field or the keyword "inriver_" to find and add the field you need from inRiver.

When you added the necessary fields and saved the changes, you will be asked to run the Product import task. You can do it from the Index fields tab or you can click: Tools > Scheduled tasks and run Rebuild index for the Product import task from there.

Step 2: When the necessary fields from inRiver are added to the Filter fields in Sana Admin, you can set up filtering of the products in the Sana web store using facets.

In Sana Admin click: Setup > Navigation & search > Facetted filters. Add the necessary filter fields. All filter fields which you have added previously to the index will be available here.

Using facets, you can filter the products in the web store, for example by color, size or brand. The facetted filter is shown in the web store on the left of the product list and search results pages.

Add fields from inRiver to Sana to use them as product specifications in the Sana web store

Product specifications are characteristics which can add more information to a product and help further refine your catalog. Product fields from inRiver can be used for product specifications. Product specifications are shown in the web store on the product details and product list pages.

In Sana Admin click: Setup > Products > Product specifications.

In the Field name enter the name of the field or the keyword "inriver_" to find and add the field you need from inRiver. Use Details page and List page toggles to show or hide product specification on the product details and product list pages in the web store.

Identification of inRiver fields in Sana Admin

Fields retrieved from inRiver are shown along with the ERP fields in Sana Admin. Besides, inRiver fields can belong to different entity types or related entities, some fields can even have similar names with the ERP fields. Thus, using the SANA_ADD_RELATION_PATH server setting, you can easily differentiate the ERP fields and inRiver fields and also see the entities the inRiver fields belong to.

Go to the Settings in the inRiver Control Center. Create the SANA_ADD_RELATION_PATH server setting and in the Value field enter True to enable the setting or False to disable.

If this setting is enabled, then all fields retrieved from inRiver will be marked by a tag in square brackets in Sana Admin. Each tag indicates the entity type the field belong to. For example, as you can see on the screenshot below, the field Long description belongs to the Product entity in inRiver.

If the setting is disabled, the fields from inRiver will be shown without tags in Sana Admin.
