Item Weight



In Microsoft Dynamics GP you can set up weight of an item.

This information is needed if you use delivery services which require weight of a package to calculate the shipping cost, for example FedEx or UPS, or the internal Sana shipping cost calculation method based on weight.

For more information about delivery services, see 'Shipping Methods'.

You can enter item weight in the Shipping Weight field, in the Item Maintenance window. The shipping weight you enter should be the weight of the base unit of measure for the item.

You should also select the weight unit for the items. In Sana Admin click: Setup > Products > Units of measure.

The unit of weight selected in Sana Admin will be used for all items. Item weight in the selected weight unit will be sent to the delivery service to calculate the shipping cost.
