Online Customer Registration

When a customer registers in a webstore online, the customer's template data is used to create a new customer. In the webstore, on the Creating a new account page a customer enters only personal contact information, like name and address. All other data like currency, some pricing conditions, tax information is copied from the customer's template to the newly registered customer. Therefore, a customer template should be created and assigned to each country available in the webstore for registration.

In Sana Admin you can edit the registration form for those customers that register online in the webstore. You can manage the fields from your ERP system that should be used on the registration form. For more information, see "Customer".

When a customer registers in the webstore, a customer selects from the dropdown list the country he or she lives in. Therefore, the list of the available countries and customer templates should be configured in SAP.

Manage the list of available countries

Step 1: In SAP, in the main menu of the Sana add-on, click Webstore Configuration. In the Webstore Id field, select your webstore and click on the Change Webstore Settings button at the top. Expand the Webstore Settings area. Use the Visible Countries table.

Step 2: For each country which should be available in the webstore set the Template Customer and select the Visible checkbox.

For more information, see "Visible Countries".

Customer templates can be created using a customer master record in SAP.

Transaction codes

  • Create Customer (XD01)
  • Change Customer (XD02)
  • Display Customer (XD03)

Template customers should be predefined with data, like currency and tax information that will be copied to the newly registered customer.

When a customer registers online in the Sana webstore, the customer record is created in SAP. In the Webstore Customers Overview table, you can see all your customers. You can filter the customers by type, B2C and B2B. For more information, see "Webstore Customers Overview".

Confirmation e-mails are the first line of official communication that a business has with customers once they have registered in a webstore. By creating an account in your webstore, your customers will receive the welcome e-mails. The New Shop Account e-mail template is used to send a welcome e-mail to a customer. For more information, see "E-mails".

 NOTE

A welcome e-mail is sent to a customer after registration starting from Sana 9.3.2.
