Product Suggestions



 NOTE

This feature is available in the latest version of the Sana add-on for SAP ECC.

Using product suggestions you can offer your customers the products which they might be interested to buy. Customers are often loyal to a particular brand or some products which they frequently buy, thus it's a good idea to build suggestions based on the customer's shopping behavior. As all customer's sales data is stored in SAP, you can easily recommend certain products to a customer based on the customer's order history. SAP uses specific rules to single out product suggestions for a customer.

To use product suggestions, you must also set up this feature in Sana Admin. For more information, see "Shopping Cart Suggestions".

Use the /SANAECOM/: Product Suggestions Sana user table to set up product suggestions in SAP.

The table below provides description of the product suggestions fields.

Field Description
Webstore Id Enter Sana webstore ID. It must be the same as the one specified during installation of the Sana webstore on Web and database server and that is stored in the Sana database. Default: "SanaStore".

If you have multiple webstores, you can set up product suggestions for each Sana webstore.
Day range Enter the day range within which SAP should check the customer's order history.
Years Enter the number of lookback years for SAP to check the customer's order history.
Sorting option This option determines which products should be shown to the customers as suggested, based on the customer's order history.
  • Counts - SAP returns the products which were ordered by a customer most frequently.
  • Revenue - SAP returns the most expensive products bought by a customer.

Example:
Current date: 08.15.2017
Sorting Option: Counts
Lookback Years: 2
Day Range: 10

In this example, SAP will look for the most frequently bought products within last 2 years, in our case from 2015 up to 2017, and within 10 days range - 10 days before the current date and after.

Thus, the customer's order history within the time period below will be checked in SAP, and based on this information product suggestions will be shown to a customer in the webstore:

August 5 - 15, 2017, August 5 - 25, 2016, and August 5 - 25, 2015
